Where Are These Pieces Made?

Each piece is handcrafted in Okayama, Japan, near the historic Bizen region, where ceramic traditions have been practiced for over 1,000 years.

Why Does Each Piece Look Slightly Different?

No molds are used in the process. Each piece is shaped by hand and fired individually, resulting in natural variations in form, color, and Hidasuki markings. No two pieces are exactly the same.

Is There Any Glaze Used, and Is It Safe to Use?

Yes. Bizen ware is traditionally unglazed and safe for everyday use. Leaving the clay exposed allows the natural texture of the material to remain, creating a more tactile and organic experience.

What Are the Orange Markings?

These markings are called Hidasuki. They are created by wrapping rice straw around the clay before firing. The natural reaction between the straw and clay produces the distinctive orange patterns.
